Taste of Country: Texas All-Stars Benefit Hurricane Relief With ‘Faith in the Water’ [Video Premiere]

Pat GreenJosh AbbottCody Johnson, Ray Benson, Wade BowenJack Ingram and more top Texas country music stars have joined together for a new track titled “Faith in the Water’ to raise money for Hurricane Harvey relief.

Songwriters Roger Creager and Kyle Hutton penned the song, and a wide range of Texas artists recorded it under the name Texas Red Dirt Choir, releasing it to raise money for the Rebuild Texas Fund. More than 30 musicians teamed to record “Faith in the Water,” mostly working at Bismeaux Studios in Austin, while artists who could not attend the session sang their parts in nearby studios. Producer Clayton Corn also added a gospel choir composed of members of his church.

They captured footage of the once-in-a-lifetime recording session and spliced it together with shots of the aftermath of the hurricane for the music video for “Faith in the Water,” which is premiering exclusively with Taste of Country.

“In the studio, someone called it the ‘We Are the World’ of Texas Red Dirt Music and it stuck!” Creager says. “The musicians, production personnel and artists all rallying behind the effort is humbling and inspiring.” . . .
