When Hurricane Harvey came through Houston, the beneficiary of our annual Clay Shoot for a Cause, The Center, was hit hard:
- Five of their six program buildings flooded
- The specialized dental clinic was inundated with 12 feet of water and all equipment was lost (see footage on ABC13)
- The auditorium was destroyed by 10 feet of water
- The Willow River Farms campus in Brookshire was evacuated and suffered damage to both residential and communal areas
To make matters worse, extensive damage also occurred at the shooting center where our upcoming event was to be held. To lose this critical funding puts addtional strain on an already dire situation. Harvey may have knocked us down for a bit, but he certainly won’t stop us! Seeing a need, YPE has stepped up to organize a new event, a benefit concert to help fund The Center’s recovery – the Concert for a Cause. The Armadillo Palace has generously donated their space for this event, and we’ve locked in Texas country music artist Wade Bowen as our headliner! EventBrite has been kind enough to waive all fees, so 100% of the revenue from donations to attend the event will go directly to rebuilding The Center’s campuses.
This is a special event that you will not want to miss. Secure your spot today and join us as we support The Center in their rebuilding process.
